Currently the E&T Division has on display uniforms and artifacts for the exhibit “On the Homefont” as a part of the Lubbock wide exhibition event, Celebrating Our Heroes. The Museum of Texas Tech University, Science Spectrum and Silent Wings are presenting a focus of World War II exhibits honoring our Veterans.
The E&T displays in Gallery 1 of the Museum focus on the home front efforts on a local and national level during WWII. The uniforms selected represent individuals from the Lubbock community and their service in WWII. On display are Red Cross uniforms, WAC and WAVES, Service Men uniforms from each division of our military, flight vest, children’s garments, and a quilt. These will be on display in conjunction with displays from the Museum’s Art and History Divisions from June – November 2012.
Also on display in the main gallery through August 15 are Peter Hurd WWII Sketches. Another traveling exhibit on display from July 15 – September 9 will beMemories of WWII: Photographs from the Archives of the Associated Press in Galleries 2&3.
Come and honor our heroes of past and present!
